The Palin Plan for Economic Growth

In a much anticipated speech last Saturday in Iowa, Sarah Palin laid out 5 steps for restoring America's economic strength thru free market capitalism. They are:

1) Enforce the 10th amendment and devolve powers back to the states and local governments.

2) Repeal ObamaCare.

3) End the runaway debt. We must cut and prioritize. We can't afford government anymore.

4) Drill Here, Drill Now! America is rich in natural resources. We need to reverse the policies of the BO/BS administration in restricting oil exploration, build oil refineries and oil pipelines. We also need to reverse the EPA rulings restricting coal mining.

5) Cut the corporate income tax to 0. We have the highest federal corporate income tax in the industrialized world; higher than China and Cuba. As part of this plan, she would cut corporate subsidies and bailouts as well. That's right, no more corporate lobbyists "buying" politicians for an unfair advantage. This move would bring back jobs which in turn would produce new taxpayers. As Marco Rubio asks here: "Which tax produces jobs?"

I know my dh is tired of me starting a sentence with "This is another reason that Sarah Palin should be POTUS . ." however, her record is a blueprint for what needs to happen on a national level. She reduced spending as governor even when it wasn't necessary. She set up a rainy day fund ~what a novel thought~ and sent money back to Alaskans instead of spending it. She took on Big Oil and guess who blinked? She took on the political corruption in the Republican party in Alaska. Her administration's ACES (Alaska’s Clear and Equitable Share) incentivized oil development while seeing to it that Alaskans — resource owners as per the Alaska Constitution — would receive “A CLEAR and EQUITABLE SHARE (ACES) of the value of their commonly-owned oil and gas.

She also called out the business as usual permanent political class in both parties. She places the blame of our out of control debt right at the feet of D.C. insiders. "They’ve got a lot of mouths to feed – a lot of corporate lobbyists and a lot of special interests that are counting on them to keep the good times and the money rolling along." The elections in 2010 were only a down payment for what we must accomplish in 2012 and beyond. The permanent political class is not going to go without a fight. Like the original American Revolution, this American Restoration is not only for us, but for our kids and grandkids. Are you up for it?

Sarah Palin is Running!

From From Iowans4Palin
~In the Storm Lake "Jump Right In and Run" Half Marathon~
My wife is a big time walker.

She was registered to to walk in the 'Jump Right in and Run' half marathon and 5k walk here in beautiful Storm Lake, Iowa, so we had to hurry home from the big Tea Party of America rally that Governor Palin spoke at held in Indianola Iowa on Saturday.

I was still in bed at a little after 7am this morning when my wife called me in near hysterics that she had just met Todd and Sarah Palin as she was getting ready to start the event! Unbelievably... they were here in town!

What a treat after witnessing her amazing speech the day before; here she was in my hometown for a run.

Needless to say I jumped out of bed and got down by the lake in time to wait along with Todd for Sarah to finish the half marathon (she had a very good time) ...Todd said, 'yeah, she's fast."

Her reported time: 1:45...that's for 13.1 miles.

I am blown away! No one even knew who they were. Wearing visors and sunglasses, with no entourage or people around them, they just kind of blended right in.

They said they got in to town the night before and were flying out for New Hampshire today for her big speech Monday at another Tea Party event..

After speaking with them for a while I let them go sort of mingle with others, I didn't want be a pest after all, but before they left they came back over to me and my wife, thanked us again and said they were so happy to
meet us, then stood for a quick picture.

Only as they were leaving did a few people start to notice who they were. Most had no clue.

This was not a campaign event, this was some personal time for Governor Palin to get in a good run in a beautiful setting and they didn't want anyone to even know they had slipped in. Very low profile. Amazing they can pull this off.

But to the people who did recognize her, she was as gracious and friendly as one could be. You can just tell she loves people, is very sincerely interested in learning about you and what's going on in the area.

The perfect way to top off an amazing weekend.

Turns out Sarah Palin finished 2nd in her age group. Can't wait to hear her speech tonight in New Hampshire

Sarah Palin Answers Real Questions from CNN

H/T to Conservatives4Palin for this great video of Sarah Palin answering questions from CNN's Don Lemon at the Iowa State Fair.

One of the reasons that I love Sarah Palin is that she is middle America. She's not afraid to take it to BO/BS. America needs to defeat BO/BS and the DemonRat's agenda in 2012 and beyond. I believe Sarah Palin has the experience and love of America to do just this.

I can see 2012 from my house!

The Fight I'm Waiting For

Hat tip to Conservative TreeHouse
Palin Power Coming On Stronger by Lloyd Marcus.
Sarah Palin's latest "in your face" to the Obama administration in defense of the Tea Party is guaranteed to infuriate the left and terrify the timid on our side. Sarah said, "If we were real domestic terrorists, shoot, Obama would want to pal around with us, wouldn't he?"

Wow! I loooooooove this woman!

Compare Palin's cojones to those of Republican presidential candidate, Jon Huntsman. Huntsman encouraged Republicans to surrender to Obama during the debt ceiling battle. Get this, folks: as a contender for the White House, Huntsman said he will not attack Obama.

How absurd is that? Huntsman's going into the ring with the Mike Tyson of politics, and his strategy is not to hit.

Compared to the John-Wayne true grit of Sarah Palin, Mr. Huntsman sounds pathetically metrosexual.

Talk about a "no surrender, no retreat" attitude! Despite a relentless and unprecedented effort to destroy her and her family, Palin is just as bold and beautiful as she was when she gave her extraordinary VP nominee acceptance speech in 2008.

I know you fearful folks on our side will flood me with e-mails about how Palin is too this or too that. Well, I am sorry, but every time this woman speaks, I feel excited. But most important, I feel empowered. After the Republicans' depressing cave on the debt ceiling, Lord knows we Tea Party patriots desperately need to feel empowered.

So many folks on our side feel they must walk on eggshells, careful not to offend the left. Palin boldly and unapologetically stands up for God, family, and country.

The left has so successfully branded traditional values embraced by most Americans extreme, many feel intimidated and fearful to stand up for them. For example, I caught a minute of a TV show called The Glee Project which is obviously targeted for youths. The show featured young couples, including two boys as a couple, sexually caressing each other while singing a song about "going all the way." The musical production number was a blatant promotion of homosexuality and promiscuity to our kids.

Call me an old fuddy-duddy, and while I realize that the TV show is on cable, I still found it a bit shocking and outrageous that such programming is considered normal.

The left appears to be calling the shots and setting the rules, culturally and politically. Advisers say we conservatives must be civil, willing to compromise and work with the other side.

I am all for civility, but it works only when both sides have honorable intentions. Civility does not work when one side, Obama and the Democrats, treats the discord as a no-holds-barred street brawl. The left views civility from their opposition as a window of opportunity to strike and land a deathblow.

Sarah Palin fully understands this reality. Palin realizes that the left will never fight fair or be honest. Pandering to the left is perceived as weakness. Thus, the only solution is to defeat them.

I still marvel at how some people on our side have bought into the Obama media's manufactured image of Palin.

While the left's destruction of her image is extremely successful on some level, Palin's "right stuff" still bursts through, casting a powerful beam of light and exhilarating millions. Palin has "it." Whatever that "it" is, this amazing woman has "it."

Can you imagine the excitement of Palin throwing her hat into the 2012 presidential ring? Move over, Thrilla in Manila (Ali/Frazier), as the most exciting fight of all time. I'm talkin' Palin vs. Obama, Mano a Mano: the Thrilla from Wasilla vs. the Chicago Thug.

Betting on this "fight of the century" could help Vegas's economy recover from Reid being their senator and Obama trashing businesses that go there.

The more I think about Palin vs. Obama in the ring, the more excited I become. Images flash in my brain. It is the long-awaited, much-anticipated day of the main event.

Palin enters the ring wearing an Old Glory-themed robe to Lee Greenwood singing "God Bless the USA (Proud to be an American)." Obama enters the ring wearing a pink robe, courtesy of Code Pink, as Al Sharpton sings "We Shall Overcome."

For fourteen rounds, Obama and Palin pound each as the upper hand changes several times. Then, round fifteen -- the final round.

Palin, exhausted from battling Obama and his tag-team partner, the liberal media, miraculously lands a knockout punch to Obama's jaw. The final bell rings. The fight is over. Sarah Palin has won the 2012 presidential election. The crowd of mostly Tea Party patriots goes crazy with jubilation. Obama's media is stunned.

Reporters flock to the rubber-legged, emotionally drained Palin. Sarah's eyes focus on her husband Todd as he pushes his way through the thronging media. Sarah fearfully yells, "Tooooooodd!" Todd yells, "Sarah!"

Finally he reaches her. They embrace. "Todd, I love you!" "I love you, too!" is Todd's reply. Our national anthem plays in the background.

I can't wait!

Lame Duck President

The Left Stream Media won't tell the truth, so our next President Sarah Palin does:
After listening to the President’s press conference today, let’s keep in mind the following:

This is the same president who proposed an absurdly irresponsible budget that would increase our debt by trillions of dollars, and whose party failed to even put forward a budget in over 800 days! This is the same president who is pushing our country to the brink because of his reckless spending on things like the nearly trillion dollar “stimulus” boondoggle. This is the same president who ignored his own debt commission’s recommendations and demonized the voices of fiscal sanity who proposed responsible plans to reform our entitlement programs and rein in our dangerous debt trajectory. This is the same president who wanted to push through an increase in the debt ceiling that didn’t include any cuts in government spending! This is the same president who wants to slam Americans with tax hikes to cover his reckless spending, but has threatened to veto a bill proposing a balanced budget amendment. This is the same president who hasn’t put forward a responsible plan himself, but has rejected reasonable proposals that would tackle our debt. This is the same president who still refuses to understand that the American electorate rejected his big government agenda last November. As I said in Madison, Wisconsin, at the Tax Day Tea Party rally, “We don’t want it. We can’t afford it. And we are unwilling to pay for it.”

Now the President is outraged because the GOP House leadership called his bluff and ended discussions with him because they deemed him an obstruction to any real solution to the debt crisis.

He has been deemed a lame duck president. And he is angry now because he is being treated as such.

His foreign policy strategy has been described as “leading from behind.” Well, that’s his domestic policy strategy as well. Why should he be surprised that he’s been left behind in the negotiations when he’s been leading from behind on this debt crisis?

Thank you, GOP House leaders. Please don’t get wobbly on us now.

2012 can’t come soon enough.

Palin: My Top Pick

This article by Lloyd Marcus articulates why Sarah Palin is my #1 choice for POTUS.

Sarah Palin, Leader of the Pack

So, who do I like as our Republican presidential candidate in 2012? Parodying the song recorded by The Shangri-Las: “The liberal media is always putting her down (down, down). They said, she came from the wrong said of town. They told us she was bad. Then I knew she was the best we had. That’s when I fell for the leader of the pack.” Who am I singing about? Obviously, the one and only Sarah Palin.

Folks, it is a bit too early to go “all in” on any presidential candidate. I really like Herman Cain. But when I think of the one person who appears to be uncontrolled by liberal media attacks; who epitomizes the kind of “in your face” no holds barred approach to attacking Obama’s horrific record, we tea party patriots are so desperately longing for, hands down, it is Sarah Palin.

I know. I know. Republican elites and conventional wisdom says, “Be reasonable. Palin is too toxic. She could never win. Pick an electable candidate like Mike Huckabee or Mitt Romney.”

When Obamacare first became law, Huckabee said repealing it would be difficult. He suggested that we try to find some good in it. My mental buzzer went off, “Wrong answer”.

On Limbaugh’s radio program, Donald Trump cautioned Paul Ryan to work with the democrats and not be too aggressive about moving forward with his budget proposal. Again, Trump set off my buzzer, “Wrong answer”.

“Working with democrats” ALWAYS means compromising our values, principles and desires. We want conservative representatives with backbone in Washington fighting on our behalf. Yes, the liberal media will portray them as Satan incarnate. But, there’s a new sheriff in town called the Tea Party and we have our representatives’ backs.

As for Romney, I do not sense a fire in the belly of this man about standing up for conservatism or the Tea Party.

The liberal media is planning a sequel to the McCain/Obama race in which they picked our “moderate” losing candidate.

Once again, the liberal media is telling us who is “too Tea Party” to win and why we should pick a moderate to run against Obama in 2012. The title of the liberal media’s sequel is, “Sucker the Conservatives Two: This Time We Really Think You’re Stupid”.

Let me tell you what I think about moderates. Even Jesus had a problem with moderates. He said, “You are lukewarm–neither hot nor cold, I will spew you out of my mouth”. In other words, for crying out loud, have the backbone, character and conviction to take a stand for something. The liberal media wants to set us up with another moderate linguine to lose AGAIN!

The 2012 presidential election is going to be all about Obama, mmm, mmm, mmm! Thus, we need a candidate who understands this reality and will boldly go after Obama politically; someone with all American John Wayne true grit committed to tea party principles. So far, our John Wayne is a Momma Grizzly.

As I said, it is a bit too early to formally endorse anyone. Palin may or may not throw her hat into the ring.

Now, regarding the issues, Palin is pretty much on the same page as most of us tea party patriots; drill baby drill, smaller government and etc.

And once again, I must cite her boldness and confidence when espousing her conservative beliefs. You never see Palin dancing around questions from liberal media hacks trying to make her conservative ideas sound mean, heartless, stupid and racist. It is extremely refreshing and encouraging to see someone on our side fearlessly challenging the liberal media!

And what about presidential charisma? In my nationwide travels on four Tea Party Express tours, in which Palin participated, nobody sparked excitement nor struck a stronger emotional chord with audiences at the rallies than Sarah Palin. She is a rock star. The people love her.

I pray that whomever we select as our presidential candidate will grasp the seriousness of the situation in which we find our country. Various potential republican presidential candidates are good people with great conservative ideas to get our country back on track. The most important criteria for a candidate to win my support is a willingness to launch a shock and awe all out assault on Obama’s horrific record and terrifying agenda.

Obama has the bully pulpit of the Oval Office, his democrat minions, racist black so-called civil rights groups and a sycophant liberal mainstream media all working in concert for him to be reelected in 2012. America can not survive another republican presidential candidate committed to “playing nice” for fear of being called racist. As they say in AA, “Half measures avail us nothing”.

If Obama is reelected in 2012, America as we know it is over. King Obama must be politically dethroned.

Sarah Palin on Newt

While Newt is not my first choice, I am all for competition. One of the many reasons that Sarah Palin is my 1st choice for 2012 is because she is not afraid of competition. She is a staunch believer in capitalism and free markets ~which has at its core, competition~. She’s not afraid of other presidential candidates; in fact, she embraces them. This is what she had to say Wednesday night, May 11,2011 on FoxNews “On the Record”

Around 7:10:
“The more competition, the better. We need vigorous debate in a Primary.”

Around 9:00:
“Competition breeds success. Competition is good for all of us; in business, in politics. The more the merrier in a Primary.”

Notice, she didn't bash Newt. She welcomed him into the fray as do I. Welcome Newt!

Sarah Palin: Calling Out the Thug-in-Chief

Removing the Boot from the Throat of American Businesses
by Sarah Palin

President Obama has the opportunity to prove that he cares about keeping jobs for working class families in America. He can speak up about his appointees at the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) who have their boots on The Boeing Company’s neck. Does the President support the rights of businesses and working class people in right-to-work states to make sound decisions without government regulatory agencies unfairly punishing them?

Does the President realize the real concern here is not that businesses will choose to locate in one state over another? It’s that businesses will choose to locate in other countries because thanks to the Obama administration’s job killing policies and over-reaching regulatory boards the business climate in the United States is growing toxic. South Carolina’s Senator Jim DeMint reminded President Obama that the President said in his State of the Union address: “We have to make America the best place on Earth to do business.” I agree with this sentiment, Mr. President. If we want to keep good paying jobs for working class families in the United States then you shouldn’t pit South Carolina against Washington state because eventually every state will suffer when businesses declare “enough is enough” with these tactics and decide to relocate in more business-friendly countries

One of the many examples of why Sarah Palin terrifies Leftist Oppressives.

Bring it On!

Hopefully the field for Republican candidates for POTUS in 2012 will be getting larger on Saturday, May 21, 2011. That’s when Herman Cain will announce whether he will run for President of the United States. I am a huge fan of Herman Cain. He is my 2nd choice for POTUS in 2012.

So far, only three have declared; Gary Johnson, Fred Karger and Tom Miller, ~Newt has announced that he will announce on Wednesday, May 11, 2011; but most likely, the field will get much larger. Mitt Romney is buying ads for every probable candidate name on ask.com as is Michele Bachmann. The Donald says he will announce a decision before June. There’s a push to get Ron Paul to run again. Mike Huckabee, Tim Pawlenty, and Mitch Daniels are most likely running as well.

My number one choice is Sarah Palin. See here for specifics; however, I welcome the debate among the candidates. Let’s have the different candidates talk about their issues; defend and debate them. Competition is a good thing. It makes for better products and services. It’s better for the consumer. While there are certain candidates that I would have to hold my nose to vote for, I'm all for getting their ideas and values into the marketplace.

Let the competition begin!

Update:
The Donald has said he's not running for POTUS and Newt has announced that he is.

Who is The Real Enemy?

On Monday, Rush discussed why Conservatives dislike Sarah Palin. I think it is a combination of fear and elitism. First, the Republican DC crowd fears her. As governor of Alaska, she went after the corruption in BOTH parties. She is a rock solid Conservative who has experience with cutting budgets ~she did this even during economic good times. ~

Bob Zee ~the veteran~ defends Sarah Palin and calls out “Conservatives” for not having the emotional fortitude to battle the enemy. See first comment here.

The other reason that “Conservatives” don’t like her is about “intellectuals” and “elitists” A couple of years ago, I read “A Framework for Understanding Poverty” by Ruby K Payne. It talks about the 3 different classes of people; ~generational poor, middle class and rich~ each class of people have their own rules and to be a move into each class, you have to learn the rules of that class; how they speak, etc. When I read the book, it hit me that that’s why they ~the intellectuals~ don’t like Palin. They don’t think she’s up their intellectual standards. She’s flyover country, she’s Middle America and proud of it. She’s us! Not only are they afraid of her, they look down on her because she’s not like them. Bob Zee is right. Do we have the emotional fortitude to battle against the real enemy here, the elites on both sides of the aisle? 2012 is toooo important to the future of our children and grandchildren.

More than Ever, America Needs Sarah Palin

It's no secret to my friends and family that I am all in for Sarah Palin in 2012. The events of this past week make it even more apparent that we need a leader like her as Commander-In-Chief.

Would she be loyal to a long-time ally like Egypt and more importantly Israel? From Israel, "The Western world’s and mostly America’s treachery. We learned that the way they abandoned President Mubarak and gave him the cold shoulder can happen to us too. Or in other words, we cannot count on the Americans at a time of crisis."

Does she understand that energy independence is a national security issue?

Would she have been have been found in contempt of court for ignoring a judge's ruling that struck down the drilling moratorium imposed by BO/BS?

Would she be defying the will of the people and the constitution by continuing to implement a law ~namely the Hellcare Bill~ that a Federal judge has ruled unconstitutional?

These are just events in the last week where it's evident that America needs a leader such as Sarah Palin; now more than ever.

Another Smear Proved a Lie

The Oppressive Leftists are doing everything they can to smear Sarah Palin. Their latest attack has been on Todd Palin.

The Anchorage Police "is adamant that they have NO information connecting Sarah Palin's husband Todd Palin to an alleged prostitution ring"

The left will tell you who they are afraid of. They are very afraid of Sarah Palin.

Let the Competition Begin!

I am a huge Sarah Palin fan. I love what she stands for. I love her record as governor of Alaska where she went toe-to-toe with Big Oil and won. I love how she cut spending even when Alaska was doing well. She returned the taxpayers money instead of spending it. ~What a novel idea!~ I love how she took on the Republican ~crooked~ establishment and cleaned Juneau up. I love how she sends the leftists into fits with a word on her hand. I think she will be a wonderful President and I hope to work on her campaign.

I'm also a Free Market Capitalist and believe that competition is good. Competition brings out the best in business and in life. These days, I'm learning more about Herman Cain. So far, from what I've read and listened to, I could get behind him for President.

Wouldn't it be awesome to have a debate with Cain, Palin and maybe someone like Pence or DeMint? They would rip apart someone like Romney or some other candidate that the LSM would want to run.

I say Let the Competition Begin!

I'm Putting My Money on Sarah Palin!

A friend recently posted an article on FB about Sarah Palin saying that she could beat BO in 2012 and asked if we'd vote for her. This is my reply.

Palin has my support and I will campaign for her. Why do you think the left keeps going after her? They are scared of her. I don't understand those that think she isn't ready or qualified. She ran a city and state. Look at her record with the budget as governor of Alaska. She cut spending even with a demonrat run state legislature. She took on the corruption in the Republican Party; an example of which is Lisa Murkowski ~whose dad Palin defeated to become governor. ~ She runs a small business. She knows how to meet a payroll. She knows how government regulations strangle a business. She was the first to name the "death panels" in the hellcare bill. She understands that energy independence is a national security issue. She went toe-to-toe with oil execs in Alaska and won. She is a shining example of being pro-life. Even with the left still demonizing her and her family, she is still smiling, enjoying life and living the American dream. She believes in the greatness of America ~as founded~ and in the goodness of the American people. I can see no one else on the national stage that has her experience, love of country and fearlessness to speak the truth and go after the left.

Another reason I support her is that the cocktail party repubs are afraid of her also. She is not an inside the beltway politician. She is fly-over America. She relates to normal Americans. As we say around here, she is good people. She is us. Isn’t that what we as “Tea Partiers” say we want? Common sense? American values? Hard work, love of God, country and family? What about her doesn’t scream that? She is a modern day patriot.

Yes, I’m all in for Sarah Palin. She has my vote and support.

Another commenter posted that while she was nice she didn't have "Presidential leadership qualities and intellectual abilities needed to win." To which I replied;

Could you please explain why you think that Palin doesn't have "the presidential leadership qualities and intellectual abbilities needed to win." Is it because she doesn't have a degree from some fancy Ivy League school? That's an elitest attitude. How has that worked for us so far? She worked her way thru college. She inspires people to believe in themselves. She is exactly who we need as our next president.

To which he replied by posting this article by Mona Charen. To which my reply was:

I don't agree. Charen is an inside-the-beltway cocktail Repub. Look how well that turned out in 2008. Charen's main arguement is that Palin is "cheesy;" if that doesn't cry out elitism, I'm a pumpkin.

The idea that Palin's endorsement caused the loss of the DE seat is laughable. Exit polls showed Castle wouldn't have won either. COD may have won if the cocktail repubs would have supported her ~like we conservatives are told we MUST do when our candidate loses in the primary.~

The cocktail party repubs are just as afraid of Palin as the demonrats are. She took on the corruption in the repub party in Alaska. She's not one of them. She is one of us. She believes in limited government, strong national defense, and energy independence. She terrifies the left and coctail repubs. She doesn't cower to the LSM. President Bush was criticized because he didn't defend himself against attacks from the left/media; but now Palin can't? You can't have it both ways.

BV's next reply was:
BTW....An "elitist school" and "not saying anything nice about Sarah Palin" are both statements with NO basis. No one (that I know) has brought up "schooling" as an issue.....also, even this article has "nice things to say about Sarah"!! ...I do as well. She is an enthusiastic patriot and a great champion of many conservative issues. She represents a large portion of "everyday Americans" and appears very excited about her passion. BUT, again that does not mean she has the leadership qualities needed for a complex nation and its matters of state.

The nation made a bad mistake in 2008 by not vetting and "jumping on an emotional ride".... and I believe due diligence should be given to the next before these mistakes become irreversible.

Although I don't think all of Charen's comments are "spot-on"; but I don't think she represents any so-called "cocktail Repubs" either....that's just name-calling and labelling. I'll stick with most of her valid points though.

You asked for my opinion as to why I think she lacks the leadership qualities.....Mona listed many of them in her opening paragraphs.
You are certainly welcome to disagree. That's what makes this is all about.

My response:
BV, you are right. We should be able to debate about positions and policies. Thank you for answering.

I don’t know where you got that I said that Charen and others didn’t have anything “nice to say about Sarah Palin.” I never said that. I said that they are afraid of her. She stands for principle over party ~and not in the McCain sense. ~ I’m sorry you took offense to “cocktail party repubs;” I use the term because it is very descriptive of the inside-the-beltway pols that aren’t real conservatives and aren’t willing to take a stand for conservative principles. They enjoy the “perks” of D.C. and don’t want to make any waves that would get them dis-invited to the cocktail parties.

I mentioned “elite schools” because that is usually what people mean when they say she isn’t intellectual enough. What exactly did you mean about her not having the “intellectual qualities” to be president? As far as her “leadership qualities,” I notice that you didn’t refute any of my facts about her record as governor of Alaska. A leader is someone that inspires and influences people to action. I would say that she definitely fits that description.

BV's reply:
Don't worry, TN WAHM.....I like debates...and take no offense in any of your statements really. I just think I would rather have someone with more of a "statesman/stateslady" quality with a broader knowledge of government and global issues ...with an ability to express oneself (and the issues) in a greater intellectual manner. I listen to Sarah and can not envision her on a real national or world stage, sorry.....Maybe its just me; but I know many independents agree.

I would more opt for someone like Newt Gingrich for those qualities; but I have grave reservations on problems with his past baggage.
Don't know as I have settled on any one candidate this early.....but I don't think we should be fooled into another grave mistake as 2008.

For the record, I didn't vote for Obama or McCain then either.

Take care.

I then asked;

BV, what "broader knowledge of government and global issues" does she need specifically? I'd say she has an excellent grasp of the intrusions of government on We the People and communicates it extremely well. Her FB notes send the WH and the left into conniptions. She speaks so that the "average" American understands what she means. I'll take that over the lofty condescension of “intellectuals” any day.

I’m curious; you stated you didn’t vote for BO or McCain. What was it about McCain that made you not want to vote for him? Was he not intellectual enough for you? Or maybe he wasn’t the statesman that was up to your standards? Was he not moderate enough for you or was he too moderate? Please explain.

BF's reply as too why he didn't vote for McCain:
McCain has been around for too long.....he has changed positions on so many issues I doubt even he knows which way to turn half the time (and much too soft spoken to boot!).
Yes, he is a true patriot (even, like myself, a former Annapolis gr...ad and former Naval officer) and we owe him alot for his service; but that doesn't earn him my vote for Pres either.
Back to Sarah....she, too, doesn't earn my vote just because she can relate to the ave. person. Lots of people can do that. Again, doesn't mean that you can lead a complex government and be the leader of a globally influential country such as ours.
Do yourself a favor and go to Youtube and pull up a speech by Newt Gingrich, then go to one from Sarah. You should see a difference.
There are other good ones though, too. I like Allen West...he has great principles, but I think he has insufficient governmental experience. I prob prefer a JimDeMint/Marco Rubio ticket at this point.
But again, we're too far away yet to see.

To which my reply was:
I've heard speeches by both Sarah Palin and Newt. While Newt is great on history and brilliant, I prefer Sarah Palin. Maybe I'm not intellectual enough.

I agree with you on Jim DeMint. I think he’s a great conservative. I think West wo...uld be a great VP for Palin and president later. Rubio isn’t qualified as a NBC to be president. His parents were not citizens when he was born.

It's interesting that we have someone who didn't vote for McCain in 2008 ~which meant he helped elect BO~ because he was wishy washy; yet he doesn't think that Sarah Palin has "presidential leadership qualities and intellectual abilities to win." Is there a candidate out there that could earn BV's vote? Actually, I think there is: Sarah Palin. The more we defend her and promote her record, the more I believe people like BV will be impressed by her.
