Great video from Cato Institute.
Did you know that in 2008 the regulatory costs on business was $1.75 Trillion. That's 14% of GDP. That's not including the new regulatory costs of the BO/BS administration including Hellcare, EPA and Frank-Dodd.
If BO/BS was serious about creating jobs, then here's 3 steps that he could take.
1) Cut spending by 20%. Did you know that federal spending has increased by 30% since 2008? BO/BS has not had a budget his entire presidency.
2) Pledge no further tax increases.
3) Freeze all new regulations.
Don't hold your breath on him doing any of these. It is my belief that he is wrecking our economy on purpose. He pledged before the election that he was going to fundamentally transform our country. He's not done yet.

Put Me in Charge
A cyber friend from The Conservative TreeHouse posted this today. Sounds good to me.
Put me in charge . . .
Put me in charge of food stamps. I’d get rid of Lone Star cards; no cash for Ding Dongs or Ho Ho’s, just money for 50-pound bags of rice and beans, blocks of cheese and all the powdered milk you can haul away. If you want steak and frozen pizza, then get a job.
Put me in charge of Medicaid. The first thing I’d do is to get women Norplant birth control implants or a tubal ligation. Then, we’ll test recipients for drugs, alcohol, and nicotine and document all tattoos and piercings. If you want to reproduce or use drugs, alcohol, smoke or get tats and piercings, then get a job.
Put me in charge of government housing. Ever live in a military barracks? You will maintain our property in a clean and good state of repair. Your “home” will be subject to inspections anytime and possessions will be inventoried. If you want a plasma TV or Xbox 360, then get a job and your own place.
In addition, you will either present a check stub from a job each week or you will report to a “government” job. It may be cleaning the roadways of trash, painting and repairing public housing, whatever we find for you. We will sell your 22 inch rims and low profile tires and your blasting stereo and speakers and put that money toward the “common good.”
Before you write that I’ve violated someone’s rights, realize that all of the above is voluntary. If you want our money, accept our rules.. Before you say that this would be “demeaning” and ruin their “self esteem,” consider that it wasn’t that long ago that taking someone else’s money for doing absolutely nothing was demeaning and lowered self esteem.
If we are expected to pay for other people’s mistakes we should at least attempt to make them learn from their bad choices. The current system rewards them for continuing to make bad choices.
AND While you are on Gov’t subsistence, you no longer can VOTE! Yes that is correct. For you to vote would be a conflict of interest. You will voluntarily remove yourself from voting while you are receiving a Gov’t welfare check. If you want to vote, then get a job.

Which Tax Creates Jobs?
Senator Marco Rubio asks an excellent question. Which of the proposed tax increases by the DemonRats will create jobs?
The latest example of millionaires and billionaires demonized by BO/BS are corporate jet owners; however, according to Bloomberg this end of the tax break ~which was in the stiumlus bill so technically, it's a DemonRat tax break~ would only put $3 Billion into the treasure over the next decade. In fact, if you add up all of the proposed tax hikes the DemonRats are currently demagoguing on they would only equal 9 days and 23 hours of deficit spending. That's not going to fix the current budget crisis.
The answer is more taxpayers; not more and higher taxes. History has shown that raising taxes doesn't raise revenue. The latest example of this is the Bush Tax Cuts. BO/BS even know this. During a primary debate in 2008, when asked the question about why when revenues increased when the Capital Gains Tax rate was lowered in 1997, revenues went up, why he would raise the tax rate and his answer? "For purposes of Fairness"
How high does BO/BS and the DemonRats want the unemployment rate to be? It's a bad idea to pass anything that make it harder to create jobs.
I ask with Senator Rubio;
Which of these new taxes will create jobs?

Steve Cohen; The History Buff?
On the floor of the House this week, Mr. Cohen calls himself a “history buff”.
Just last week, he got history wrong when he said that it was the Democrats during the Clinton administration that balanced the budget. For those of you that may have forgotten ~like Mr. Cohen~ the Republicans controlled both the House and Senate during the last 6 years of the Clinton administration. Since it’s Congress who controls the purse strings of the federal government; it was the Republicans who balanced the budget and Clinton took credit for it. Clinton also signed welfare reform. But I digress.
Mr. Cohen also praises Medicare as a great program. Medicare is such a successful program, that there is a whole segment of the insurance industry called Med Sup plans; it’s become increasingly harder for Medicare patients to find doctors who take Medicare because of the reimbursement rates for doctors; and Hellcare cut $500 Billion from Medicare to keep it under the low, low price tag of $1 Trillion ~which we’re finding out more and more that it isn’t true~. Color me surprised! A government program that costs more than projected.
Mr. Cohen cites Social Security as “one of the great social advances of the 20th century”. Maybe because he’s such a “history buff” he doesn’t know that Social Security is about to go broke and American’s my age won’t see a dime of it.
Mr. Cohen says he doesn’t want Nixon to only be remembered for Watergate; he should also be remembered for Clean Water which is the “signature achievement” of his presidency. How magnanimous of you, Mr. Cohen. The environmentalists have regulated industries ~along with unions and high taxes~ out of business. Look at how the EPA is using the "Clean Water Act" to suspend 79 mining permits in West Virgina, Ohio, Kentucky and Tennessee.
Last week he accused Republicans of not doing anything about jobs. What Mr. Cohen means is that the Republicans don’t see government spending as the way to create jobs. Like the last “stimulus” did so well.
Again, surprise, surprise! The way to create jobs is to cut taxes and regulations on businesses.
Mr. Cohen, quit spending my children and grandchildren's money. And brushing up on some history wouldn't do you any harm either.
