Set the DVRs; Get Ready for an Education on Solutions

From National Review On-line via The Conservative TreeHouse.
Herman Cain and Newt will debate in a "modified" Lincoln-Douglas Debate focusing on fiscal issues. It's going to take place near Houston on November 5th. This is exactly what I have wanted to happen in this primary process. Education on how and why Capitalism and Free Markets work. Education on how Conservatism and Liberty affect our everyday lives. Education on how the Founding Fathers thru the Constitution created a style of government that unleashed American ingenuity and created the most prosperous and generous nation on earth in history.

Newt is a brilliant historian and teacher. Cain is a real life entrepreneur and an example of the American dream. The debate will focus on fiscal issues and how they affect entitlements. We all know that Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid are broken and will/are bankrupting this country. Both Newt and Cain offer different solutions to these problems, but both of them are rooted in Conservatism and the belief that individuals know better than government. I have no doubt that they will both use this event as an opportunity to not only persuade us on why their solutions will be best but also contrast them with the disastrous policies of the oppressive leftists that have been implemented by big government DemonRats with the help of inside-the-beltway Republicans.

I believe the election of 2012 is the most important of our lifetime and just the beginning of restoring our great country to it's founding principles. In order to succeed, we need to educate ourselves and our friends and family on how and why Constitutional government is the answer to a strong economy and a strong America. This debate between Newt and Cain will be a big part of that.
